How much does it cost to post a job?

All Listings, Jobs, Real Estate, Items for Sale, etc are all free to post on LongDage. Most Job websites (Careerbuilder, HotJobs, etc all charge a fee, sometimes several hundred dollars. But all of our Job postings are free. Even "free sites" such as Craigslist are not really free for everyone. Craigslist charges for certain select cities, which makes it really not free and not fair for those cities. All of our Job Postings are free. So there is no risk or obligation to get started and you can start saving today on your recruiter budget by using LongDage.com.

What personal data to you collect and what do you use it for?

To create an account with LongDage, we collect as little information as possible. This is for your own protection. The only piece of information required to create an account is your email address. We use this for communication with you from our site. We recommend that you do not per personal information, such as phone number or your email address in your listings. This will help protect you from spam emails from other people, and spam text messages sent to your cell phone.

We also recommend never to give out your phone number to anyone or any other website or company. You never know what they may do with this information now or in the future.

What things do you charge for?

We charge for very little, but there are a few areas where we have a charge. These are all optional.

  • We charge for listing translations: If you want to have your listing translated into Chinese or from Chinese to English, we have a small charge for this based on the length of your listing. Once translated, your listing cannot be changed. This is an excellent way to reach people who only speak Chinese! In fact, did you know that as of Feb 2008, the majority of people using the Internet speak Chinese! Even if you are in an English speaking country, you can reach the large number of Chinese speaking people in your country by having your listing translated to Chinese.
  • We charge for reply translations: If you happen to receive a reply to your listing in Chinese, you can either translate it for free using one of the online translation tools, such as Google translate, or you can have a professional translation done by Longdage.
  • We charge for LongBi (Dragon Cash Purchases): Dragon cash is our system to allow your listing to appear higher in search results. If you have an urgent need to fill a position, or sell an item or real estate, you can bring your listing to the top by using Dragon Cash. Dragon cash can be added to your account from your account section, and can be added to new or old listings you have created.
  • We charge for Inventory Units: If you need to have your listing appear in more than one location, you can easily do this with our Multiple Location Inventory (MLI) Units System. Each account is created with 1 free MLI. You can try it out easily with your first listing. If you would like to post more listings in more than one location, you can purchase these from your account section.

What happens if my listing gets flagged?

While we hope that most people will post appropriate listings, there are cases where some people will post things that are not appropriate or by mistake. What happens in these cases?

  • First we will review your listing. A real person will review your listing and communicate with you through your Longdage inbox to let you know that it is in violation of our terms, and allow you to correct the situation. If you are not willing to correct the situation, we will remove your listing from the site.
  • If a Longdage member finds your listing and feels it is not appropriate, they can flag your listing, which brings it to our attention and to your attention. If after repeated warnings, appropriate action is not taken, we may have to remove your listing.

In call cases, you will get a personalize message from our staff about your listing. We strive to keep the site personal, and do not allow listings to be flagged at random or removed without reason or without letting you know.

Other sites, to save cost, simply allow anyone to flag and cause your listing to be removed. This has even resulted in companies hiring other people to flag competitor listings!

How do you verify listings?

Unlike most sites, that claim to be easy, or claim to serve their members, we truly do. We do not require your telephone number to register you account, and we do not require "Monkey Text" (you know those text boxes that most sites require you to type in characters showing that you have an IQ at least as great as a monkey). We do everything to serve you and make things easy for you to use our site. We have a team of people who review each listing, and if there is an issue, we contact you personally!

Wouldn't it be great if every site were so personal, or truly had "customer service"!

What is Monkey Text?

Monkey Text is the phrase we use for those text boxes that most websites use to avoid spam or abuse. But in most cases, these do little to avoid spam or abuse of those sites, and simply give the impress that those sites are cutting down on abuse or spam, when in fact it is usually on the rise, making those sites less useful.

At Longdage, we have taken a different approach. We feel we should serve our customers and members, and as such, we have a team of customer services representatives serving you, the members and users of our site. So you will not see Monkey Text boxes, checking to see if you can type in what you see. If your listing follows our terms, you can simply post and be done. If your listing does not follow our simple guidelines, our team will review it and let you know.

What could be simpler than that?

We have brought back the "User Friendly" back to the web, and our Customer Service servers our members and customers.

Other sites, such as craigslist, not only require the entry of monkey text, but the text you are entering is actually to help another company (http://recaptcha.net/) with their scanning of books and text project! We fell that not only is this a distraction for the end user, but in effect you are performing the work that another company is too lazy or does not want to perform! Since the text you are required to enter in is unknown, at times, offensive words are found that are not suited for younger children.
